I find that the brightness of the tuning light on the Receiver is very sensitive to the lid angle.

Generally, we recommend placing the two lids facing each other. For your reference, the lid's angle may influence the receiver light. But the Receiver tuning light only needs to be lit, not be the brightest. It is more important to make sure that you have tuned the button counterclockwise until the light next to the transmitter coil reaches the first highlight.
